Please support student leadership, learning and professional development that will help build a stronger UMass Amherst. Your contributions will help members of the Student Alumni Association to attend the CASE ASAP regional conference on February 27-28, 2016 at Bentley University in Waltham, MA, and the national conference on August 4-6, 2016 in Atlanta, GA.
What is the Student Alumni Association (SAA)?
SAA is a registered student organization made up of current students from all classes and a variety of majors, with diverse interests and talents. Most members are active with other registered student organizations, service projects and Greek life. The common thread between all members is PRIDE in UMass Amherst and in the SAA. This pride permeates everything the SAA does to advance our UMass community through events, activities and traditions!
What is CASE ASAP?
CASE (Council for Advancement and Support of Education) ASAP (Association of Student Advancement Programs) is a professional association serving educational institutions and the advancement professionals who work on their behalf in alumni relations, communications, development, marketing and allied areas. It is comprised of student alumni associations, student foundations and spirit groups at more than 300 member institutions. Its goal is to foster and enhance student involvement in all areas of advancement—from alumni relations and communications to fundraising, marketing and traditions and programming.
What are the benefits of attending the CASE ASAP conferences?
By attending the conferences, we will network with and learn from students from universities around the country. It is an opportunity for professional development, to gain new skills including career preparation, event ideas, marketing practices, and recruitment and retention skills. We will discover new program ideas and ways to contribute to our UMass community. This will help us, as student leaders, to pass on what we learn to future SAA members to keep our organization progressing and increasing its impact on the campus community. This not only serves our current students but past and future students as well.
