Making a Difference for Students in Need: As part of our Family Weekend activities (October 25 - 27), we will be collecting gifts for the Student Care and Emergency Response Fund (SCERF). SCERF is a vital campus resource that helps students cover expenses associated with food and housing, medical and basic health needs, childcare, technology, and more.

FAQ

I can't find the fund/designation I was hoping to support, what do I do?

Under the "Fund Designation" field, select "Other" from the very bottom of the list. This will open a text box where you can write-in any fund/designation you would like to support. If you have any difficulty finding the "Other" option, you can select any fund in the list, but then note your designation preference in the "Special Gift Instructions or Comments" box at the bottom of the page and we will be sure your gift is distributed to the areas of campus that you request.

Can I support multiple areas of campus with one gift?

Yes, to make one gift that supports multiple areas of campus select the "Add a Gift to this Donation" drop-down if that option appears. If you don't see this option, select the "Other" option in the Fund Designation list and then provide the full breakdown of where you would like your gift to go in the Special Gift Instructions or Comments box on the donation page. If there is no "other" option in the Fund Designation list, you can still write in your gift breakdown in the comment box and we will be sure your gift is distributed to the areas of campus that you request.

Will I receive a receipt for my contribution?

Yes! The UMass Amherst Foundation will send you a receipt, via email, shortly after you make your gift.

Can I make my gift anonymously?

Absolutely. To make any gift anonymously, or for any other requests, simply note your preferences in the "Special Gifts Instructions or Comments" box at the bottom of the giving form.

Will my contribution be tax-deductible?

Yes! All philanthropic contributions to the UMass Amherst Foundation are tax-deductible. Our UMass Amherst Foundation Tax ID (EIN) is 54-2084125.

When will my credit card be charged?

Your credit card will be charged immediately.

Can I make my gift via PayPal or another e-wallet option?

Yes! After filling out the giving form you will be able to complete your donation via PayPal, Venmo, Credit Card, or Apple Wallet.
