Help Honor the Legacy of Curry Hicks Cage

Help Honor the Legacy of Curry Hicks Cage

Curry Hicks Cage holds a special place in UMass history—having served generations of student-athletes and fans, it's more than just a building; it's a symbol of pride, tradition, and perseverance. As part of the $8M renovation project to transform the Cage into the Jim and Ellen Hunt Indoor Performance Center, we have a unique opportunity to ensure that legacy is preserved for years to come.

We are launching a targeted campaign to raise $250,000 for additional branding and recognition elements that will celebrate the rich history of the Cage. These enhancements will help tell the story of the past while inspiring future generations of Minutemen and Minutewomen.

Alums and friends are encouraged to support this effort. Five-year pledges and naming opportunities starting at $25,000 are available, and those who contribute $1,000 or more will be recognized on the alumni wall inside the new facility.

The renovated facility will become one of the top indoor training centers in the Northeast, exclusively serving our men’s and women’s cross country and track and field programs. It will feature a two-level design with a track-specific surface, space for jumps and throws, a sprint straightaway, and a second-level running track with room for non-impact training.
