Support Study Abroad Opportunities for UMass Amherst Communication Majors
No other opportunity can advance students' experiences quite the same way as study abroad. The connections, cultural exposure, language immersion, friendships, and career opportunities are just a few of the priceless reasons for study abroad.
Each year, more than 1200 students from UMass Amherst participate in the more than 70 campus-sponsored programs on every continent but Antarctica. Through study abroad, students can pursue their academic interests, learn a foreign language, and experience life in a different culture. Our Comm students have gone to places including Portugal, Chile, South Africa, and just this past summer, a group of students and faculty went to the United Kingdom at Oxford University.
But it's not an easily achievable goal for many students, so we need your help.
We recently published a feature story about our own Comm students and faculty's first-hand experience at Oxford this summer.
And while Oxford is just one of many opportunities open to our students, we want to share with you this wonderful video created by Comm grad Emma Tavolieri '18 and Donald Cadman about what it's really like to study abroad and why this is a major opportunity that should be available to all students.
We appreciate your support and look forward to helping to facilitate more Comm students experiencing education abroad.
Thank you!
