Sisters on the Runway (SOTR) is a national nonprofit organization that is student run with different school chapters. Our mission is to raise awareness of domestic violence issues. We also try our best to be representative (of all bodies, all races, all genders, all sizes, all religions, etc.) in order to promote positive body image and empowerment.
Each year the UMass Amherst Chapter holds an annual red carpet fashion show, which over 400 people attend. We give all the proceeds that we have raised throughout the year and from the show to a local domestic violence shelter named Safe Passage located in Northampton, MA. According to Safe Passage, over the past 8 years, we have raised $30k for them from our fashion show. This incoming school year will be our 9th year running as a chapter.
The show this year is on Saturday, March 23, 2019. Give today to help us get what we need in order to put on the show!
The funding that we get goes to: decorations, lighting, runway rental, catering, red carpet rental. We would love if you could help us follow through with our mission on producing another successful show. You're all invited!
You know all the ins and outs of this year's fashion collection. Regular people can look like celebrities, too.
You're a star! We could not have done the show without you.
