This year we celebrate the 40th Anniversary of the women's Cross-Country and Track & Field programs at the University of Massachusetts! We plan to renovate our women’s cross-country and track & field locker-rooms in the Cage in an effort to increase our success over the next 40 years! Our alumni, family and friends can be a vital part of this special project to enhance our current student-athletes' experience. Your contributions to the locker room renovation will have an immediate impact on today's scholar-athletes as well as honor your time spent at UMass as a member of our cross and track family. The women’s programs utilize two locker rooms to accommodate our 60 person roster. Both locker rooms will be upgraded to include new wooden lockers, a large flat panel TV, couches and refrigerators. As an alumni, you will be welcome to use the alumni lockers provided in the renovated locker rooms. Come back to Amherst to visit your UMass family, use our locker room while you take a run down memory lane! Lockers are limited as there are only 64 available.
Goals of the project:
Recognize alumni and honor past achievements
Honor our alumni who have passed away
Develop an alumni mentorship program
Provide a quality locker room for our current student athletes and for alumni visiting campus (will have two designated lockers for alumni use in each locker room)
Enhance the quality in our recruitment of outstanding prospects
Develop an active and strong alumni network to strengthen our UMass family
Locker Dedications:
A $1,000 gift ($500 for class of 2017 student-athletes and recent alums*), allows you to dedicate a locker in the upgraded facility and secure a legacy in UMass Cross Country and Track & Field. A plaque (click here to view an example of a single dedication and here for an example of a multiple dedication) will be prominently displayed in a locker that will be used on a daily basis by UMass student-athletes. Your name, years of competition, events & times, and hometown (character limit may apply) will be displayed on the plaque. Leave a lasting impact on UMass Cross Country and Track & Field teams for years to come. Lockers can also be named in honor of championship teams, families, and alumni who have passed.
*PLEASE NOTE - The Foundation Board has agreed to match gifts made by those who graduated within the last 2 years (2015 and 2016), as well as any class of 2017 student. To qualify, the gift must be made by the recent graduate or current student).

There are several naming opportunities available for those who are fortunate to help in a larger capacity:
Block of lockers: $1,000 x number of lockers
Room recognition: $10,000 - Naming opportunities for two women’s locker-rooms are currently available (Cross-Country - COMMITTED and Track & Field - COMMITTED)
Wall of Fame: $20,000

Any and all money collected above and beyond the cost of the project will be used solely for the Women's Cross Country and Track & Field program.
An option for four former alumni OR two class of 2016 student-athletes/recent alumni who graduated within the last two years (2014 and 2015) to share the dedication of a locker. All names will be included on the name plate. Once you make your donation please email lockers@umass.edu with the names of the other alumni you would like to share with. PLEASE NOTE - for current student-athletes and recent alums - each gift must be made by the class of 2016 student-athlete or recent grad to qualify for the matching gift and the dedication of a locker.
Class of 2016 student-athletes or recent alumni receiving an undergraduate degree from UMass within the last two years (2014 and 2015) can dedicate a locker for 50% off the regular donation requirement (the Foundation Board will match your gift up to $1,000). PLEASE NOTE - each gift must be made by the current student-athlete or recent grad to qualify for the matching gift and the dedication of a locker.
