Hack UMass Fall 2016

Who We Are

HackUMass is one of the biggest student-run hackathons in New England with over 800 students and 20+ company sponsors from all across the country participating in a 37-hour competition engineered to promote collaboration between participants and test their professional skills and creativity. This Fall will be our 5th annual hackathon, and we are excited to bring HackUMass V back to UMass Amherst this year on November 3-5th, 2017.

What is a hackathon?

A Hackathon is a didactic event, focused on idea development and community building; in which innovators from multiple fields come together for a certain amount of time to solve problems, create new things and build relationships with other creators. This type of event encourages collaboration between mentors, top-tier companies and students, and provides all the tools necessary to allow innovators to put their ideas into motion and have a completed product by the end of the event.

Why donate?  

At UMass Amherst we highly value diversity and collaboration, and this reflects on our hackathon community. By encouraging participation from innovators from all around the country, with different backgrounds and from all education levels, we promote a more inclusive community of creators, whose ideas and projects have the potential to change our world.

By supporting HackUMass you will be supporting students and collaborators from various fields; from engineering, to computer science and business management. We all come together to work towards the goal of developing a product that will positively influence our global community.
