Support the Future of the UWW Department of Interdisciplinary Studies

Welcome to the University Without Walls (UWW) 50 +1 for the Future Campaign. As we celebrate our 50th anniversary, we look forward to working together in community to support the hopes and dreams of current and future UWW students. 

Our Goal

Our goal is to raise $51,000 by December 31st for scholarships and other forms of support for financially vulnerable UWW Interdisciplinary Studies students. Campaign contributions go towards the UWW Gift Fund, an unrestricted fund that provides us with the flexibility necessary to respond quickly to various student needs. This fund is currently used almost exclusively for awarding scholarships to UWW students facing significant financial barriers. 

Do you want to be part of the campaign, but have a favorite UWW scholarship fund you prefer to give to? No problem! When you make a donation, simply add a note in the space provided indicating which specific scholarship you would like to support. 

The Need

Each semester we receive dozens of scholarship applications from students in need, accompanied by story after story of hardship and tragedy. The need is great; the resources insufficient. This is where you come in. Every gift we receive in support of the 50 +1 for the Future Campaign will help us build a solid base of support for UWW students. 

“Given how committed our alumni and friends are to UWW’s success, I am hopeful we can build a base of funds sufficient to meet demand,” said Joe Bartolomeo, Associate Provost for Interdisciplinary Studies and Dean of the UWW Department of Interdisciplinary Studies. “We urgently need additional resources to support students who come to us for assistance.”

“It’s heartbreaking to be faced with turning away low-income students in need,” added Jacqueline Castledine, Chair of the UWW Department of Interdisciplinary Studies. “In kindness and community, I believe that together we are up for the challenge of meeting this fundraising goal in support of UWW students facing overwhelming financial challenges.”

Our inspiration

UWW has a strong legacy of paying it forward. We believe in our students and alumni, and we believe in each other. This collective spirit of compassion and generosity has supported generation after generation of UWW students. As we celebrate our 50th anniversary, this is our moment; our moment to harness our past to build a foundation of support that changes lives and makes dreams come true.
