ASME Design Competition
The American Society of Mechanical Engineers is a student chapter geared to help bridge the gap between the classroom and a career in mechanical engineering. Through extracurricular activities, student members gain experience in applying their engineering skills and see how they can integrate these skills in a professional setting.
Help the American Society of Mechanical Engineers at UMass Amherst in our effort to construct a succinct design for the 2022 Student Design Competition. Our prototype will successfully harness water energy conversion and propel the vehicle forward. The Student Design Competition is a great platform for our members to get valuable team-building experience in an engineering setting. Any contributions to help fund our team’s goal are greatly appreciated.

This level would pay for the system's arduino, which would allow the team to interface with the vehicle's electronics.
$100
Electronics
The cost of the vehicle's electronics, which are necessary to propel the system.
$150
T-Slotted Framing
The cost of the vehicle's metal framing. This acts as a mount for the vehicle's subsystems.
$300
3D-Printer
The cost of a new 3D-printer that the team would use to model our own parts.
