WMUA Fund Drive

WMUA 91.1FM is the commercial free college radio station at the University of Massachusetts Amherst. We subsist through funds from the Student Government Association and from this Fund Drive. Fund Drive is where you, our listeners, alumni, and community come together and support us to bring you all great radio content.

Who Are We?

WMUA 91.1FM is the radio voice of UMass Amherst. We are a student run and commercial free radio station that broadcasts 24/7/365 both over the air and online. With public affairs, news, sports, and music programming we host a diverse group of voices from the University of Massachusetts, the Five Colleges, and surrounding communities. We are a collection of UMass Amherst students, 5 Colleges students, and community members devoted to producing a variety of programming for  the Pioneer Valley and beyond. As one of the first college radio stations to transfer over to the FM dial decades ago, we have been broadcasting a whole host of programming since 1948. With your help we will continue to create the content you know and love.

What is Fund Drive?

Fund Drive is how we raise roughly 1/3 of our operating budget through fundraising projects. This is a chance for listeners and community to get involved with us and help us produce fantastic content. This year we are pushing into a new digital age with MinuteFund. This platform allows everybody to follow along with Fund Drive and see updates from the station staff as we progress towards our goal. Together with your help we can usher WMUA forward with great success that we will benefit from for ages to come.

Where are donations being spent?

Your donations will be going towards station upkeep, along with helping us upgrade several aging computer systems throughout the station.

What will you receive in return?

Our most grateful thank you. Along with this, those donating more will be entered to win any number of amazing WMUA apparel. We have T shirts, long sleeve shirts, sweaters, baseball caps, beanies, and mix CDs from some of our DJ's up for grabs during this year's Fund Drive. You will receive an email from a wmua.org address within three weeks of your donation if you have won a piece of apparel. We will be inquiring about specifics such as sizes in this email.
