Thanks to everyone that made our showing of Powerlands a success! If you are a UMass Amherst community member, you can access the Libraries copy of the DVD for viewing. If you have access to Moodle, when you are logged in, you can watch the film here.
Thank you so much for your contribution to our project, and for attending the event, if you were able. There was palpable energy in the room, enthusiasm, empathy, and a taste for action. Ivey Camille had animated stories to tell in addition to what was seen in the film, inspiring many snaps and claps. We thank Ivey Camille for her approachable and generous spirit. She gave so much of her time ahead of the event meeting with student groups, cohorts, and classes, as well as side conversations with audience members after the showing.
We welcome you to read an article by Alexandra Hill in the Collegian (UMass' free and responsible press since 1890) to get an even deeper sense of the event highlights.
We truly hope that you will continue to share the story of Powerlands with your connections and seek out ways you can advocate for Indigenous sovereignty, truly, as you perform your work in the world.
With hope,
~angie
