For three decades, the Cape Cod Alumni Group has helped open doors for UMass Amherst students—awarding an impressive $381,000 in scholarships that fuel dreams, ease financial burdens, and empower the next generation of leaders.

At UMass Amherst, support truly matters. In 2025, nearly 85% of first‑year students received some form of financial assistance, from scholarships and grants to loans and work‑study opportunities. This level of access is only possible because the UMass community shows up with heart—championing students who are ready to learn, grow, and make their mark.

Where does a scholarship contribution go?

Right back to students. Over the past 30 years, the Cape Cod Alumni Group has proudly awarded more than $325,000 in scholarships to 125 local students who began their UMass journeys with encouragement from their own community.

Who receives these scholarships?

Each year, nine scholarships totaling $28,000 help Cape Cod area high school seniors take their next big step at UMass Amherst. These awards recognize promise, potential, and the spirit of perseverance—qualities that define our region’s students.
