Raise funds for SHPE 2024 National Convention

The Society of Hispanic Professional Engineers (SHPE) is a national organization that aims to change lives by empowering the Hispanic/Latinx community to realize their fullest potential and impact the world through STEM awareness, access, support, and development. On the local level, UMass SHPE aims to continue to build the Hispanic engineering familia (community) at UMass Amherst. We offer our members a support system so that they may succeed in all areas of life. Our executive board has created workshops to help our members grow as students, engineers, and professionals. We also provide opportunities to network and meet with businesses and corporations.

We are raising funds to send 16 students to Anaheim, California, for the 50th Annual SHPE National Convention. We need your help to fund this endeavor, as traveling to conferences is expensive due to transportation and lodging expenses. With this, we hope to take as many of our members as possible to Anaheim in October to help provide Hispanic/Latinx engineers and people interested in technology with opportunities they would not otherwise have access to. Attending students will gain access to educational workshops, competitions, networking events, and the popular SHPE Career Fair and Graduate School Expo. The convention has been life-changing for our members. Last year, 3 senior students were able to land full-time positions on the spot at the career fair!
