NEURON Conference Trip 2026!!

The UMass Neuroscience Club boasts a thriving community of individuals fascinated by research. One way to help our members determine if research is truly for them is by attending the annual Neuron Conference in Connecticut, held at Quinnipiac University. We have been fortunate enough to attend the conference for over 10 years, but unfortunately, due to budget cuts, we do not have sufficient funds to send all interested members this year. This is a fantastic opportunity for students to witness firsthand the application of real neuroscience research at both UMass and other local universities. It is filled with numerous tables discussing graduate programs and provides people with the opportunity to make valuable connections that can benefit them in the future.

Last year, we were lucky enough to have Ralph DiLeone, a Professor of Psychology and Neuroscience at Yale School of Medicine, be the keynote speaker for the event. He discussed his current research on neural circuits and reward-related behaviors, providing a firsthand view of what research can entail.

The conference also allows free tours of both their medical and nursing schools, allowing our members to get a first-hand look at what graduate programs could be best for them. Overall, this trip is a highly rewarding experience that brings people significantly closer to realizing which career paths are best suited for them.

Please help us travel to Connecticut and cover the cost of tickets so we can gain valuable experiences and see what our future in neuroscience could truly look like.
