Black Artistic Freedom Conference

The Black Artistic Freedom Conference is an annual centering education and activism through the arts. Founded in 2024 by PhD Candidate Imani J. Wallace, this curated space has been the largest collective gathering of scholars, creatives, organizers, and community members in the New England area and beyond who explore the multifaceted richness of Black cultural practices and methodologies with an unapologetic exuberance of authenticity.

Taking place February 21, 2026, this year’s theme, “TV OFF: Hip-Hop as the Revolution for Critical Conversations and Resistance to Conform” challenges us to disconnect from distraction and re-engage with the real revolutionary work of community, creativity, and change.

To bring this vision to life, we need partners who share our commitment to social justice, artistic expression, and community transformation.

Your gift directly supports:

Honoraria for keynote speakers, artists, and facilitators whose work inspires revolutionary thought.

Accessibility and inclusion efforts to ensure this event remains affordable and sustainable to the public.

Meals, materials, and creative supplies which make the experience immersive and community-centered.

Youth and student engagement initiatives that uplift the next generation of freedom dreamers.
