Help Our Students Build Careers that Bridge the U.S. and Japan
Our students aspire to become bridges between the United States and Japan after graduation. To play this role effectively, they need real work experience in Japan—opportunities that deepen cultural understanding, strengthen language skills, and prepare them to contribute meaningfully in both countries.
At the same time, Japan faces a growing need for globally minded workers, especially those who can mediate between Japanese communities and international visitors. Our students are eager to step into this role.
To support them, the Japanese Program launched the Career Support Grant in 2023. This grant helps alleviate the financial burden of airfare and housing for students who complete internships in Japan during the summer.
This year, we are planning a special summer course that combines Business Japanese with hands-on work experience in the beautiful town of Yamanouchi, Nagano. Students may use the Career Support Grant toward this course or toward any internship they secure independently.
Your contribution will directly support students pursuing these invaluable experiences—and help us cultivate the next generation of global professionals who can connect Japan and the world.
