UMass Cycling Club 2025-2026
Who are we?
The UMass Cycling Club is a competitive collegiate racing team representing the University of Massachusetts Amherst in the Eastern Collegiate Cycling Conference (ECCC). We train and compete in road, mountain, and cyclocross disciplines against top collegiate athletes across the Northeast.
Founded in 1973, our team has nearly five decades of history dedicated to developing strong, skilled riders while fostering an inclusive and welcoming cycling community. We are committed to making the sport accessible to all UMass students—whether they are seasoned racers or new riders discovering the excitement of competitive cycling.
Fundraising goals
Any funds you donate contribute directly to our success in our Fall Mountain race season and Spring Road season. Each donation helps to support our teams' daily operations. We cover registration, licenses, transportation, food, gas and lodging for all our racers to make bicycle racing as accessible as possible.
We also operate beyond the scope of the race seasons and strive to make cycling affordable, accessible and fun for everyone. In the future we hope to purchase and maintain a fleet of 6 loaner mountain bikes with all of the necessary protective equipment and tools. These bikes will be available to any racers who may need to borrow one as well as EVERY student at UMass Amherst looking to participate in the sport of cycling. We hope to establish a curriculum and series of clinics that will teach anyone how to race, but more importantly, simply enjoy the sport of cycling.
