Sinners Spring Gala Night at the Juke Joint: A Black Community Spring Gala

Inspired by the Oscar-nominated blockbuster Sinners, the UMass NAACP launched this year’s programming with a Sinners Movie Night. Building on that foundation, this event strives to serve as a cultural anchor—a space where art, history, and contemporary Black experiences intersect.

Rooted in the NAACP’s longstanding mission of advocacy, education, and community empowerment, the 2026 UMass Spring Gala will bring together students, alumni, and community members for an evening of celebration, dialogue, and reflection. Through shared cultural moments, networking, food and refreshments, and a keynote speaker series, the Gala honors Black excellence while affirming the role of culture as a catalyst for connection and change.
