The UMass MedTech Team is a student-led medical device design team focused on developing innovative medical devices that address critical gaps in the healthcare space. As the only design team on campus dedicated to developing medical devices, our mission is to provide students with valuable exposure to industry-standard engineering principles in a collaborative setting. With many opportunities to enhance technical and leadership skills, our members are well-equipped to succeed in the biomedical field. 

Recently, our team was accepted to present our projects at the Northeast Bioengineering Conference (NEBEC) at Temple University. Funding will directly support our conference fees, travel to Temple University, and accommodations, allowing us to showcase our work on a national platform.  

Currently, the team is engaged in four different exciting projects outlined below:

1) KneeVive - an at-home traction therapy device for treatment of knee osteoarthritis

2) CallaCare - a camera-based, compact redesign of the standard speculum, allowing for a much more comfortable patient experience

3) GaitGuide - a haptic-feedback shoe insole aimed at correcting uneven gait in post-stroke patients

4) AutoVein - an automatic IV insertion device designed to make IV insertion in the clinic much more efficient
