Friends of Men's Crew at UMass Amherst Campus Endowment Fund
Rowing has a proud tradition at the University of Massachusetts Amherst. Men’s Crew has been active on campus every year since 1964 and, tracing its roots back to 1871, Crew is the oldest student group (club sport?) at UMass.
The Friends of Men’s Crew at UMass Amherst Campus endowment was created by a group of alumni aiming to enhance the program and help secure its financial future. In order to sustain and grow the program, they established the "Friends of Men’s Crew” fund with a goal of reaching $1 million.
The objective is to provide Crew with a reliable source of income to allow the team to plan for capital projects, replace aging equipment, and reduce team dues, which currently cost $1,200 per member each year. The costs are prohibitive, limiting participation in Crew to only those who can afford it.
Friends of Men’s Crew is an alumni-founded effort, driven by a group of former rowers looking to pay it forward to the next generation. Rowing at UMass defined our undergraduate experiences and we hope that you hold yours in the same regard. Please make your gift today and help us establish a new legacy that will provide that same experience for generations of future Aggie rowers.
