For over 50 years, UMass Amherst has been the pioneer in sport management education. Our program is universally viewed by our peer universities, students, and the sports industry as the top-ranked program in the world. Maintaining this level of excellence, however, is only possible through the financial support of alumni and friends of the program. Be it multi-year six-figure pledges … or $25 gifts each year, it all adds up, enabling our department to continue to provide the resources and opportunities that result in exceptional students and proud alumni.
With your help, we can ensure that our program – The Business School for Sports Business™ –remains at the cutting edge of our industry for the next 50 years of our history. We have several ways you can support our program. Of course, there’s the McCormack General Fund that provides unrestricted funds for the department’s use. Alternatively, one of the funds below may resonate with you.
McCormack Funding Priorities:
Harold J. VanderZwaag Scholarship - Established by the VanderZwaag Family to honor the legacy of one of our department’s chief founders and architects, Dr. Harold VanderZwaag, gifts to this endowment provide scholarship support to graduate or undergraduate students who demonstrate exceptional leadership within the McCormack Department of Sport Management and Isenberg community.
Internship Scholarship Fund - your gift to this fund directly assists students who need incremental funds to participate in external internships. Scholarships are awarded at the discretion of the Department Chair.
McCormack Industry Engagement Fund - Your gift to this fund enables a wide variety of student-oriented activities from participation in national case study competitions and professional development trips to alumni events and advertising —all designed to enhance our engagement and reputation within the sport industry.
Women in Sport Business Fund- Your gift to this fund supports a wide range of initiatives designed to position the McCormack Department as the industry leader in the professional career development of women, such as class field trips and experiential team-building outings, presence at appropriate conferences, and professional development summits empowering women to move up to leadership positions in the sports industry.
Thank you for your support!
