Alumni Challenge

Dear Hockey Alumni,

Since I was hired I have met MANY former players who have all told me how excited they are about the new direction of the program. Excitement is not enough. We need your participation. If we want to be a national contender and a premiere team in Hockey East then we need, first and foremost, the support of our former players.

We have experienced great participation from alumni in our golf outings each summer as well as our alumni weekends in the fall. However, to compete at the national level we need your financial investment. In an effort to continue building alumni participation and financial resources to the Pond Club, I am very excited to announce that Director of Athletics Ryan Bamford and Paul Carney, a member of the Athletics Committee of the UMass Amherst Foundation Board, have agreed to give our program $15,000 if certain thresholds are met by Dec. 31, 2017. I am extremely grateful to Ryan for his commitment to give $10,000 when we meet this challenge and to Paul for upping our game with an additional $5,000 in challenge dollars. Participation from all of you will make a statement to our current players, administration and future recruits that we are serious about our commitment to excellence in hockey. 

Reach 25 alumni donations and our program will receive $1,000 of the challenge money!

Reach 50 alumni donations and our program will receive $3,000 of the challenge money!

Reach 75 alumni donations and our program will receive $7,000 of the challenge money!

Reach 100 alumni donations and our program will receive $10,000 of the challenge money!

Reach $15,000 raised in alumni donations and our program will receive ALL $15,000 of the challenge money!

It is your turn to help make a difference. Your gift, combined with other alumni will make a true impact on UMass Hockey and our success going forward. I urge you to make a gift today and share this with your former teammates.  A few alums have jumpstarted the challenge - please join them! With your participation, upon success of this campaign, our program will have additional resources that will play a key role in our growth.
